Royal Albion hotel fire: National Express buses diverted

The Pool Valley coach station in Brighton is covered in debris after much of the west wing of the Royal Albion hotel collapsed during the blaze.

National Express coaches to Gatwick, Heathrow and London are unable to pick up or drop off passengers and have instead been diverted.

The buses will not be able to complete their routes until the demolition work is finished in several weeks’ time and until then, the drivers will stop and start their routes near Valley Gardens.

The national bus company has warned passengers through its social media channels.

A spokesman said: “With immediate effect until further notice.

“Due to a building fire Pool Valley Station will not be served. Coaches will use the bus stop on Gloucester Place.

“All customers inbound to Brighton will be set down at York Place.”

The York Place bus stop is at the top of Valley Gardens, near St Peter’s Church and the Gloucester Place stop is near the junction with North Road.
